General
objectives
|
|
The
BSP-2 programme aims target the Commission's overall
objective to support the implementation of the acquis
criteria set forth by the Copenhagen European Council
in 1993.
In particular it aims at supporting the ability of business
representative organisations in the central European
candidate countries to take on and implement the acquis.
The first objective of the programme is full familiarisation
of target business representative organisations with
the relevant acquis and its implications vis-à-vis their
company members.
Each selected project must devote no less than 70 %of
the total EC funding granted to support activities under
objective
The second objective of the programme is the strengthening
of target business representative organisations in the
candidate countries of central and eastern Europe. With
particular relevance for the achievement of objective
1 and the success of the project,the Commission may
provide support to those activities aiming to further
strengthen the CEEC business representative organisations'capacity
in advocating the interests of their member companies
in adopting and implementing the Community acquis. Each
selected project may devote up to 30 % of the total
EC funding granted to support activities under objective.

Community funding:80 %.
Maximum number of grants to be awarded 13.
Who may apply:
—horizontal or sectoral European business representative
organisations as defined in section (D)of the guidelines
for applicants,
or
—horizontal or sectoral EU national business representative
organisations in partnership with at least two other EU
business representative organisations as defined in section
(E)of the guidelines for applicants.
Provisional notification date of results of the award
process November 2002.
