2002 NGO Food security programme for financing via non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the field of food security; budget heading B7-201.
Directorate

General objectives
The objective of the programme is to implement actions to support food security in a manner consistent with national food security strategy in the beneficiary countries.
Target group
Not-for-profit NGOs which have their headquarters either in a Member State of the European Union, or in one of the countries mentioned in the Annex to Regulation (EC) No 1292/96 (see also Annex G to the Guidelines).
Geographical area
Projects must be carried out in one of the following countries: Bolivia, Haiti, Ecuador, Niger, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Madagascar, Tajikistan, Bangladesh. In addition, one NGO network will be selected to strenghen the analytical capacities of civil society and institutions in both the north and the south.
Finance
Overall amount available for this call for proposals EUR 52,2 million.
Minimum grant for a project: EUR 400 000
Maximum grant for a project: EUR 3 000 000
Maximum proportion of project costs to be covered by Community funding: 90 %
Minimum proportion of project costs to be covered by Community funding: 50 %.
Duration
The project duration may not exceed 48 months.
Deadline
Tuesday 14 January 2003 at 16.00 hours (Brussels tinme).

Application form and details to be provided Applications must be submitted using the standard application form attached to the Guidelines for applicants, whose format and instructions must be strictly observed. Each application must include one signed original and three (3) copies, together with one (1) data version on floppy disk (3 ½ inches, compatible with MS Word Version 6, MS Excel or older, or RTF).
