The budget heading B7-6100 ‚Awareness-raising in the
field of development™ covers financing of publicity
campaigns for the promotion of a better understanding
by the public opinion of issues connected with the development
of the countries of the south and of development coop-
eration actions of the European Union and of its Member
States; it covers in particular audiovisual actions,
development education as well as the Prix Lorenzo Natali
for journalistic work in the field of development.
3. Nature of activities,
geographical area and project duration
(a) Financing of the production of documentaries, magazines,
reports, debates, series which could benefit from one
or more television broadcasts in the European Union
likely to contribute to a better understanding by the
European public of the realities of the developing world,
of the need for North-South cooperation and which deal
with the European Union's development cooperation policy
and its efforts made in this respect. The projects must
meet the criteria laid down in section 2.1.2. of the
guidelines for applicants.
(b) Geographical area: proposals must deal with one
or more developing countries.
(c) Maximum project duration: 36 months.

to in point 12.
4. Overall amount
available for this call for proposals :EUR 1 000
000.
5. Maximum and minimum
grant amounts
(a) Minimum grant for a project: EUR 50 000.
(b) Maximum grant for a project: EUR 150 000.
(c) Maximum proportion of project costs to be covered
by Community funding: 25 %.
6. Maximum number
of grants to be awarded :20 proposals.
7. Eligibility: who
may apply
Audiovisual production companies, associations, independent
producers and television channels with their registered
office in the territory of the European Union. 8. Provisional
notification date of results of the award process Nine
months beginning from the deadline for applications.

mentioned in point 12.

Applications must be submitted using the standard application
form attached to the guidelines for applicants mentioned
in point 12, whose format and instructions must be strictly
observed. For each application, one signed original
and three copies must be supplied by the applicant.
