General objectives


The purpose of this call for proposals is to finance events involving ACP artists, authors, creators and cultural works in the EU Member States with a view to:
— increasing the number of events specifically devoted to ACP cultures,
— increasing the participation of ACP artists and creators in major European cultural events,
— consolidating (in economic terms) the networks supporting the production (in the ACP countries) and distribution (in the EU) of such works.

Target group
Applicants must:
— be non-profit-making,
— fall into the following category: European organiser of cultural events (excluding artists or performers themselves),
— have their headquarters in the European Union,
— be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, not acting as an intermediary.
Geographical area
the project should focus on artists/works from at least two ACP countries and present them in one or more EU Member States.
Finance
Overall amount available for this programme EUR 2 600 000.
Maximum and minimum grant amounts (a) Minimum grant for a project: EUR 50 000.
(b) Maximum grant for a project: EUR 150 000.
(c) Maximum proportion of eligible project costs to be covered by Community funding: 40 %.
Duration
14 months.
Deadline
The deadline for the receipt of proposals is 12 noon on 14 November 2002, and events should begin no earlier than 1 March 2003

Applications must be submitted using the standard application form attached to the guidelines for applicants, strictly observing its format and instructions. For each application, one signed original must be supplied by the applicant, along with three copies of the application itself and of all supporting documents. Only proposals submitted using the form annexed to the guidelines will be taken into consideration.
