General
objectives:
This call is designed to support organisations which
are active in fighting discrimination and which are
mandated by their national members to co-ordinate their
own network at the European level.
Types of action:
Co-ordination of activities between members associations,
annual meetings, information measures for members (newsletter
etc), gathering of information and opinions from national
members, studies and reports, publications etc.

2.5 millions

funding:

to combat discrimination 2001-2006 adopted on 19 November

Nature of Community
contribution:
A limited portion of the total budget of the budgetline
can be used for spontaneous grant
Level of Community
contribution:
The financial contribution will not exceed 80% of the
total costs. Contributions in kind are not accepted.
The Commission intends to fund about 20 actions, with
a maximum of 250.000 EURO for a single organisation.
Organisations(s) which
may benefit from the programme:
Only non-profit organisations which are active in fighting
discrimination on grounds of racial or ethnic origin,
religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation
and which are made up of representatives of potential
victims of discrimination are entitled to submit applications.
Applicant organisations should be operating at a European
level. This means that their structure and activities
should cover at least ten Member States of the EU.
Organisations which only promote equal opportunities
between women and men are excluded from this Call as
they are covered by specific activity under the existing
programme on Equal Opportunities between Women and Men.
Eligibility:
Only non-profit organisations which contribute to the
fight against discrimination on grounds of racial or
ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or
sexual orientation and which are made up of representatives
of potential victims of discrimination are entitled
to submit applications. Further details on the eligibility
criteria will be laid down in the call for proposals.
Only co-ordination activities started on 1st April 2000
at the earliest and by 31 December 2000 for a maximum
period of twelve months are eligible for Community funding.
Procedure to be followed:
Further to the publication of the call for proposals
on the EUROPA web site and in the Official Journal,
series C, organisations will be requested to submit
their applications within 8 weeks. Only organisations'
application forms which will meet all eligibility criteria
as laid down in the call will be appraised by an internal
evaluation committee. Within the limit of the total
budget made available, a selected number of beneficiaries
will be listed. All applicant's organisations will be
informed in written and in due time of the final outcomes
of the selection process.
